Curiously, Ray's response beat your original message to the server by 10
minutes,
so I saw his snipped reply first.

This is the first digest that's been lost since I started
following you folks last June, so I have naught to complain
about. Maybe it's a harbinger of things to come, though.
I prefer the digest because, being mostly a lurker, it gives

Hey Jon,
Don't forget to read the rest of what I wrote and not the tiny little
snippet that Ray quoted. I admit that "POS" may have been a bit harsh.
So that you know where I came from I was used to the latest & greatest.
And since you brought it up I was running NC machines starting back in

files.
Everything was checked but only difference between hanging or not
hanging emc2 I think was double lines in g-code.
But this also happened when g-code has not having double lines.
Fixing up parameters in ini fil

That's pretty convincing!
I check the BIOS settings for that port. It's PS/2, which
allows bidirectional access and defaults to the normal I/O
pin configuration. At some point I'll change that to AT,
which should force the data bits to output-only, and se

Yes, there's a lot of "FUD" flying around. People who won't take the
time to learn
something new say it is garbage, to cover up their unwillingness to find

No offense intended! It got the job done. You have to admit EMC has come
a long way. BTW that quote was out of context and makes it look like I'm
bashing EMC which is not the case, and I actually praise EMC and ALL the
developers!!!
My first cd was from you Ray. BDI 2.04 I think. Please don't

I know a few pretty smart folk at The National Institute for Standards
and Technology and a others in the machine tool industry that might take
offense.

Welcome.
When I first ventured down the path of building my own machine. EMC
was basicaly a POS full of garbage, bugs. It was still the closest thing
I could find to a real machine control. It has come a long way since
then and I thank All the developers for their hard work. EMC is the best

Yes, if you're working from CVS either on the TRUNK or on the
