Rayh, the whole gauntry acts as a swivel :-} It's all made of aluminium sheet 15 mm thick, 30 cm wide and 70 cm height with two 80x80 beams of 122 cm long. If I remove one of the ball screws I can move that side a few centimeters without applying too much force. I thought of adding a timing

[Emc-users] EMC on FISL

2008-03-15 Thread Filipi Vianna
Folks, The FISL's program committee sees the EMC project with enthusiasm. They are asking if anyone of the people in charge of this project could attend the Forum. This year it will be held on April, but next year it will be on June. Is this the right list to ask that? Regards, On Fri,

Hi RobThat sounds like it should work since the two motors will not bind against a rigid frame. You're right about those motors jumping whichever direction they please when you apply power. As long as you don't have to worry about loosing steps, both motors could be driven from the same set of

Couple of thoughts Jorge. First is how to manage building the machine base. I'm sure that you know that the parts of the machine that hold it together and allow it to move are what absorb the cutting forces and harmonics and allow it to cut accurately. The KT company built quite a business with

Rob, I have a machine with 2 motors on the y axis. This is how I home both motors together... I have a positive adjustable stop on both ends. This is a bolt with lock nuts. When both ends of the axis are on these stops the machine is aligned and in what I refer to as the Hard y zero. To get

[Emc-users] question about suicide brakes on a small spindle

2008-03-15 Thread Gene Heskett
Greetings all; Pursuant to my need to re-think how I use the PMDX-106 to control the spindle's vsr controller, I had wired the vsr's output such that a run enabled relay is at the output of the vsr, and the reversing relay was beyond that. Rather than switching the AC power relay to the vsr

Greetings; That SKU-47158 schematic is conspicious by its incompleteness. The arrows labeled A,B C are in fact interconnects to the brains of this servo amp, and which are not shown. Note that a bipolar driving waveform presented to C, referenced to that circuits ground which is the center
