An important spec to look for in any motor is the stall torque to give
an idea of its ability to move a dead load like a machine table that
also has stiction (stationary friction) and any other load on the
table to overcome.
Note power is the product of torque and rpm

Watts is Volts times Amps, and is defined as 'power'.
The 'torque' would be more the 'amps' than power, but obviously they are
related.
Does that help?

Hi,
I'm not sure about the newest version of MachineKit, but the one I download
about 3 weeks ago works fine on the BBB running AXIS (so far only spinning
motors, not cutting anything yet). I followed the directions for installation
here:

That's not a VNC problem, that's an X-windows redirecting problem.
Is that the BBB screen, or your PC?

A simple aproach may be to change the kinematics code so that you add Z0
to the value you compute now for
Z in the direct ( world coord obtained from joint coord) model, and
substract the same Z0 to J1 J2 J3 (joint coordinates) in the inverse (joint
coordinates from world coordinates) model.

I have bought a bunch of stuff from cncdrive.com. Balazs is very friendly
and service minded
Axis does run on the BBB (I use it all the time). Unless you're running a
board that conflicts with HDMI, I would recommend directly connecting a
monitor. I haven't used vnc on the BBB, but my hunch is that it is
rendering in such a way that the tight VNC version of an X display doesn't
like. I

That's an interesting point.
I guess it is possible that the idea is that the gearbox oil washes

Currently it seems that Andy is right - you see relative (workpiece)
coordinates so simply do "touch off" for Z axis. Ideally for testing

Gentlemen,
My goal would be:

I found touch screen support for 10.04 would work with some and not with
others. I suspect newer OS's would work better.
I use ELO 1519L with IntelliTouch E830343 on my mill. The AccuTouch
would not work for me.

Change tour model so it can have an offset for the joint coordinates. Then
give an arbitrary value to your offset so that z gets a value inside the
working limits.
I think this will work. If after this you get a following error, ask again
:).
