It's a big upgrade, much faster networking, much improved video and options
for up to 4GB RAM.

Those packages with "glib" in their name are not glib, they use glib. You
would have found it if you did "grep glib2" rather then "grep glib-dev"
glib is the standard C library. It seems unlikely that glib is not
installed. More likely you have a problem with the "include path"
Try somethin
Greetings;
Fails in ./configure with no glib found?
But apt list | grep glib-dev finds quite a list, none of which are
installed:
libaccounts-glib-dev/stable 1.21-1 armhf
libalglib-dev/stable 3.10.0-2 armhf
libappstream-glib-dev/stable 0.6.8-1 armhf
libavahi-glib-dev/stable 0.6.32-2 armhf

Peter,
Thank you. I'll be in touch. I need to address a number of other issues
before I can get back to this now.

I've used the 2.2 KW water cooled Chinese spindle with good success for
a few years. As Danny mentioned, the power at low RPM isn't very good.
The largest cutter I use for machining is 1/4" and it's usually 1/8" or
less, but I do use a 1.125" mortising bit to level the spoil board and
it seems to

Have used a cheap Chinese air cooled 18krpm 3kw spindle for years. You
must drive them off a VFD anyways.
At 3000 rpm you have much less power. Well the torque is probably the
same but power=torque * rpm.
The air cooled is cooled by a shaft-driven impeller, so fan rpm drops to
3000 rpm too

Greetings everyone,
I wish to upgrade a dressing spindle in our EMC grinder. We currently
have a very small DC motor turning a one-inch diamond-studded disc at
about 1500 RPM, with fairly decent results, but my research indicates we
may be better served with a much larger disc and higher RPM.

Greetings all;
I have attempted to build a newer kernel, several times, kernel srcs
based of links to as new as 4.19.50-rt22, the latest announced on the
linux-rt mailing list, but all the makefiles use tools-master's mkimage
to assemble the compressed u-boot image.
Putting it as mildly as I c
