This warning > <stdin>:2: warning: Illegal digit in octal number "008000" may be ignored. It does not appear to affect the functioning of the xrdb command.
A bit more information: xrdb files may use C-style macros. This is done by invoking the C preprocessor. On Ubuntu LTS, the preprocessor that xrdb invokes is called 'mcpp_prestd'. It issues this warning, but also gives the desired result.
