Have a look at trunk lids on some cars. They use two transverse torsion rods to hold the lid open. On some models they are adjustable to two or three positions, especially on models with an optional rack or heavy wing or spoiler. Not as prevalent now as in the 70's and 80's since gas cylinders

I think that something like that would be custom made to suit the application. A spring steel rod properly tempered, etc. If you have any heat treatment shops around you they may be able to make some suggestions. The spring shaft might have to be quite long to get 270 degrees of movement out of
