I decided to install FreeCAD 0.18 to get the latest and greatest FreeCAM.  Thanks for the encouragement, Lester. I'm running Ubuntu so I didn't need to compile anything.  There's a FreeCAD daily repository for Ubuntu.  Details are here:

Would be faster to dumpster dive a PC. I doubt you'd ever get a modern CAD app to compile on a small ARM-based board. It would take weeks of work Don't you have a good Linux PC with at least an i7 processor? 3D CAD, even if you could get it to build on low-end hardware would be horrible to
