There are some good reasons not to use the USB port ... latency issues which require buffering on the control device end, noise issues, etc. If you lived through the Mach3 Smooth Stepper USB issues you would likely be avoiding USB. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/smoothstepper-usb-motion-control
