Just for SG I downloaded the Wheezy Gnome 3 live cd and booted from
that. I got this Gnome error:

Unfortunately GNOME 3 failed to start

Works with nouveau and if you download the nvidia-glx package, DKMS
builds the driver fine (you need headers and a build environment)
What you then need to do however is add

Debian wheezy.
No way to install the nvidia drivers properly.
