Hey, I forgot to say this earlier (hat planned to mention it during the opening). In German law people have a right to their own picture. This means that–unless certain conditions are met–it is not legal to publish the picture of any person without their consent (distribute or show publicly).

I'm curious about this also. IANAL, and we're in the UK, but this is relevant to what we do (microdonations disbursed to recipients over bitcoin). In all my digging through US IRS documents (so much fun!) I've never found anything to substantiate the requirement to know the source of donations

Hi all, The GNOME Foundation is registered in the US and must therefore comply with US financial rules. Unfortunately IRS regulations means that accepting payments through Bitcoin poses some problems, and the Board of Directors has therefore decided to stop accepting donations through Bitcoin.
