I was just wondering if anybody out ther has written some
scripts for E to automatically mount USB Flash disks and cdroms.
Things like making E pop up some windows of evidence or other stuff when
plugging in thumb drives or cdroms.

I'm running the 16.7 ebuild on Gentoo, and haven't experienced any
problems other than the ones you mention (and even those have occured
rarely, if at all).

E 0.16.7 slipped out a bit too early.
Major problems:
- Window placement after restart can get messed up.
- Restarting with more than some number (16-32?) of windows on one
desktop will crash E.
Minor problems:
- The desktop->backgrounds menu sometimes isn't generated properly.
- Closing the icon
