Just noticed a small problem with the (old) illume:
when X blanks the screen it immediately gets unblanked.
After some digging I found that since r46726 e_pwr_init_done() doesn't
get called any more. Causing e_pwr.c to think it's still in some init
phase, and thus send a fake Shift_L key pre
