The program I am trying to launch is *nm-applet* I'll put a sleep time of
ten seconds or so before the command and see if that does the trick.

So I have tried both GDM and LXDM - with both display manager when I have it
set to "auto login" it does not launch the one application I have in startup
programs. When I log out and log back in the start up programs launch just
fine.
Any ideas?
