aha! I found the icon theme selector. That worked. I changed it to a
random one and it fixed the missing icons. Thanks!! Whew! Now if I can
fix the wifi not working upon login... :)

Illume. I was using the "default" which is similar to illume except the
background is a textured black wallpaper. But the icons remain missing.
I don't know if it's possible to change the icon theme itself.
Also I have another problem. I can't connect to my wifi unless I start
