Hi,
great to hear that this does fix your problem with screen locking.
I have the same problem as you, but your fix doesn't work for me.

I have to comment some lines in files "/etc/pam.d/common-auth" and
"/etc/pam.d/common-password" (all lines which include pam_ecryptfs)
wierd thing, those files was c
Hi...
I have the forecast module activated right now, but I also had the
problem before the forecast module was activated.
I will do a short test, and see if I can report any connection between
them...

i've never seen that file. I have 3 boxes running E17 with current
versions (although, not as current as this one with this error), and
none of them have that file. I don't even remember having an encrypted
filesystem..

I'm not blaming, just reporting that it was the case with me and friends.
The problem with these modules is that they use b

Hi,
yes I've checked my E compile options and PAM is definitely enabled for
me.
The strange thing is, that it worked a long time and then after updating
to the newest SVN release sometimes it works, sometimes not. The change
is always after recompiling, it doesn't seem runtime related.
I suppose
Yes, i recall i got the same issue in a previous compilation. It used
to work some time before, and pam is installed and working and E is
also compiled with pam support (as i wasn't sure, i recompiled E with
--enable-pam)

Hi folks! i've recently noticed that when E locks, i can put ANYTHING
and it will take it as a valid pass..i think that's wrong. I'm
running lenny updated and e17 updated from less that a week. The
output in /var/log/syslog is this
