Hi Glen.  Elive perhaps has a bit too much bling for a music workstation and don't think it uses the dragbar I mentioned by default - I find the dragbar is the killer feature for music work so if you do try E16 in VM, it's really worth a look at that. Looks like FFADO has support since PipeWi

Thanks Snake Eyes! Yes, the Openbox version was pretty light but not very well received, I had actually removed xfdesktop and xfwm from XFCE4 and replaced it with Openbox and it shaved around 200 hundred Mb of RAM consumption from XFCE4 but Enlightenment actually weighs in about the same as X
