i jut build e18 on steamos wich i think is debian7 X64, no crashes so far
i see on terminology a lot of:
ERR19594:eo lib/eo/eo_ptr_indirection.x:275 _eo_obj_pointer_get() obj_id
(nil) is not pointing to a valid object. Maybe it has already been freed.

Does anybody know where I can find the Slideshow module source code that will
run with e18? There was once, apparently, a
downloadable rpm for Fedora (17 I think) but it's no longer around and wouldn't
necessarily have worked with e18 anyway so if
anybody can help me I would appreciate it.

Ok, got the source code, got it compiled and installed, installed a bunch of
other patches for my system and rebooted and restarted
e18. I can now see the module under Menu-Settings-Modules-Look and I've
enabled it. I restarted e18 with
Menu-Enlightenment-Restart but when I go to Menu-Settings
Never mind. After turning on the module and looking around in the src files a
bit I realized that there was a desktop file Went
and looked on the desktop and, sure enough, there's a new icon. Right clicked
it and went into settings, setup what I wanted and
it's working.
