Recently I've faced a problem with pager module that is spending cpu as there's
no morning on earth. I've two options: buy a nuclear reactor to power my
computer or subscribe to this list and ask if anyone has this problem
I use connman, with econnman. The advantadge is that it feets nicely with the
desktop and also lets you manage bluetooth. Also has a lot of features that I
never need.
Simply remove econnman from your loaded modules and the popup will be gone.

Personally I like it a lot. It's subtle enough to not be disturbing and at a
same time gives good visual feedback. Option to disable or not... well,
everybody likes candy but I don't think it's mandatory to have.
