Re: [e-users] pager is showing iconified windows

My pager shows thesame thing. If I have a window then minimize it the pager still shows it. It's been that way for me since the module configuration dialog showed up. I've been rebuilding everyday from
thinktux.net for about a week. I'm going to rebuild right now and I will report agian if it's fixed.

Please remember that it's not close to being done its just a rough draft right now. I would appreciate some feedback eith on the site or through this email list. Anyway here it is:

Quite possibly, although to be fair, most if this isn't X's fault -Nvidia and ATI have been pretty bad about supplying decent drivers for
linux, so most sytems are running without and hardware accelleration. Here's a good look at it.::snip snip::
I just wanted to throw this in for no apparent reason and I don't know
if you mean from a developers point of view but, I've never had any
problems with the nvidia driver for Linux. For what I have used it for
it runs just as good as the windows one and the 3d acceleration works
like a hooker on a Friday night.

the most problems with xcompmgr (Firefox+Flash plug-in will crash,Thunderbird will crash unless you set XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS,occassional corruption when using scrollbar in thunderbird, rdesktop).E17 will have corruption on the background when starting up and/or
changing themes, but moving a window around the desktop to force arepaint will fix it. Transparent windows work fine, the drop shadowscreated by xcompmgr don't interfere or look out of place with e17'sdropshadows... really, it's pretty amazing!
Granted, xcompmgr and transparent windows are only usable withproprietary NVIDIA drivers (which I am using), and other people reportgreat success with EXA-enabled drivers and X.Org 6.9/7.0.::snip::

Ok quick question that I can't find the answer to. I have xcompmgr and
transset-df with xbindkeys setup like the gentoo wiki says and like you
have it but I was wondering if you could set it up to autoset
transparency by mouse click instead of mouse wheel like kde uses? Or
any link to a webpage that has more help on the issue would be great.
Thank you!

For menu generation try out a program called e17genmenu:

it creates menus from your gnome/kde installs and is quite handy.
I'm not sure if theres a mandrake package though. Check it out.

Right now I'm using the .deb's from shadoi (which are great and I
currently mirror) but I'm just curious what packages I need to compile
e17 from cvs. Like what -dev packages and automake and what not. I'm
not sure if theres a list somewhere so if someone could point me in the
right direction it would make me a very happy man. Thanks for the help

Read the docs for e17genmenu. It tells you how to use --use-theme= i
think it is. Like on my debian box if i want to use the theme
/usr/share/icons/nuvola I'd use --use-themes=nuvola .

To specify a theme, only pass the theme name NOT the full path. (ie: For Hicolor theme, specify hicolor, NOT /usr/share/icons/hicolor)Hope this helps you.
