Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] From 52 to 76: disable some things

2020-05-21 Thread Mike Kaply
The whatsnew tab can be prevented with the OverridePostUpdatePage policy

https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md#overridepostupdatepage

The privacy page can be prevented by setting
datareporting.policy.dataSubmissionPolicyBypassNotification in the
preferences policy

https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md#preferences

I would need to know exactly what the dialog said, but it sounds like the
legacy profile support. On Windows that can be disabled with

https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md#legacyprofiles

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] Migration from 52 ESR -> 76 ESR: bookmarks lost?

2020-05-21 Thread Mike Kaply
Firefox 76 is not an ESR. The last ESR was 68.

You should not lose your bookmarks, but it might have created a new profile
if it is installed in a different directory.

What do you see when you go to about:profiles?

[Mozilla Enterprise] Migration from 52 ESR -> 76 ESR: bookmarks lost?

2020-05-21 Thread Luca Manganelli
Hello,

I've noticed that during profile migration from Mozilla 52 ESR to 76 ESR
loses all bookmarks.
Is this a normal behaviour? Or is Mozilla 52 an too old version?

[Mozilla Enterprise] From 52 to 76: disable some things

2020-05-21 Thread Luca Manganelli
Hello,

I've noticed that when I upgrade from Firefox 52 to 76, Firefox opens two
tabs:

  - what's new
  - privacy notice

and in plus, there's a dialog box showing about Profile migration.

Is there any way to disable these 3 things via group policy?

Thank you in advance
Luca
