This is why I believe we need a “CentOS-EPEL” repo that mirrors EPEL generally,
but that is frozen in the period between a RHEL and CentOS release.

This package has been in testing for a month:

Can anyone push it to stable?

[EPEL-devel] Re: wine 3 package

2018-06-11 Thread Richard Grainger
Thanks for the confirmation Ken! For the benefit of others, the repo
should work with or without epel. If you do have epel, wine32
coexists with wine64. Wine64 has the priority for the wine command
under the "alternatives" system. The i686 dependencies for wine32
coexist fine using the RHEL/CentOS multilib support (their versions
exactly match their x86_64 counterparts in epel).

I've finally updated the wine32 repo for CentOS 7.5 (which has 32 bit
rebuilds of the required epel packages). Details here:

Hope this helps!

Fair enough. This is useful information with regards to the utility of
filing similar bug reports in future.

Yes, this is the case and yes, although inconvenient, this is what I
will do. Many thanks for your help with this.

Is it considered a bug if you cannot build an EPEL package with the
current point release of CentOS or is it not? My understanding is that
older point releases are not supported or is that incorrect?

Well...I just need to...for my own reasons. The issue is high priority
to me, but I won't be offended if the priority is lowered by an admin
on bugzilla.

I'm sure it would. I'm afraid I can't help there.
