It appears that it's actually trivial to add %autosetup to RHEL6.  You
just need the Fedora macros plus a couple of extra definitions.  That's
in git now.

I don't want to push this to testing because there's another version
soaking in testing which I don't want to supersede.  However, you can
build from git and add it to a local repo if you want to test it out.

Note that because I've copied the macros verbatim from Fedora, and those
macros are basically the bulk of the package currently, I've just
changed the license of epel-rpm-macros-6 to GPLv2+ (from GPLv2).  What
was previously in there was written by me so that shouldn't be an issue.

Finally, it does not appear that this is possible on EL5 without a whole
lot of magic, though I think I could make it work.  If someone really
wants %autosetup all the way down to EL5 then please let me know and
I'll add it to my list.
