The eric6 editor is based on the QScintilla editor widget. However, it is
extended extensively and is using functionaliyt contained in other modues of
the eric6 package. So the answer is, yes it is possible but it won't be easy.

most of what you mentioned can be suppressed already. Have a look into the
Interface config page. eric6 has a plethora of config options to allow to
tweak it to your liking. If you find additional things that should be allowed
to be configured, please let me know.

as a base, and adding my functionality as plugins?
