No, I am not getting paid or otherwise compensated to promote this.
Just thought the Icepick list members would be interested in such an
unusual item.

I have an idea for a small scale model. I
am not real knowledgable about aquarium fish, but I do know there is a small
glass encased electric heater for the tanks. Anyone want to do the actual
construction and test?

Can, will, someone just build the model and see if it works?

The steam propelled torpedoes JH Byrne mentioned were powered by
concentrated hydrogen peroxide. H2O2 contains a lot of energy that might be
more useful in the submarine that navigates in the open water beneath the
ice. Good idea about contacting agencies with similar problems to solve.

Robert, you mentioned that Precision Fabricators might be willing to participate, in exchange for publicity. That is exactly what we are all about. If Precision would be willing to assist with the construction of the model, it would be clearly the advantage of IcePick
, so that the project won't interfere with the various other goings on and raw science presented here.

Wow. That's exactly what we need. We're going to have to hammer this thing out on paper
that has some
limited navigational abilities.
Adam's story gave me an idea: instead of screwing around with complicated
drill and pump mechanisms, and all the moving parts and opportunity for
clogging and break-down, why not simply use STEAM to propel the model?
Here's the idea: the model shell
