many many thanks to the people who turned up: my apologies for not
bringing my laptop - it turns out that it would not have worked
anyway, as the output is 1280x800 and the projector 1024x768! if that
mismatch can ever be resolved i would like to do a quick 5min
lightning talk with some of the dem
