What portion of cells in the pack are at significantly higer SoC? I assume it is a small portion, or you would be individually charging the smaller portion of cells which are at lower SoC. I've done both. For higher SoC cells I connect a 3 Ohm 10W resistor between the terminals with spring clips

If I understand Saxton correctly, he is assuming that wear-and-tear on the batter is uniform across all charge states. Howewver, there is plenty of evidence that most of the wear occurs in the bottom 20% and top 20% and, even in those legs, it is not linear. Especially good evidence for this
