The KillaCycle does 0 to 60 mph (0 to ~100 km/h) in less than 1 second.
There are quite a few electric vehicles that do 0 to 100 km/h in far
less than 1.8 seconds.
This is a 60 ft time of about 1.55 seconds, and there is a long list of
NEDRA vehicles that do this routinely.
To name a few:
An InsideEVs article mentioned the same thing and pointed out that
this was a World Record for a student designed EV with a 100Kw limit,
IIRC.
Like has been mentioned in the past, put enough qualifications on it
and anything can be a world record.

With all due respect to the Swiss researchers, I believe Plasma Boy was
faster than that a few years ago in his White Zombie - a door-slammer
Datsun 1200 conversion.
