I didn’t get Steve’s message in my gmail iPhone account but think David will 
get this. Incoming messages that get to my gmail go into a folder called junk, 
instead of inbox. If Steve has that folder he should check there. I didn’t add 
it, gmail must have.

Since May, the list has been having problems with Gmail rejecting (bouncing) 
posts. This is after many years of Gmail being one of our most reliable 
delivery services.

Our alphabet soup (DMARC, SPF, and DKIM) is hot and well seasoned, and we're 
not on any blacklists.  Still they're bouncing our mail.

Gmail seems to SEND to the list just fine, as Steve has just shown.

I'm looking into a couple of possible fixes for this problem.

I'll also see if I can find a source of voodoo dolls in Sundar Pichai's 
image for you to stick pins in.  

Just kidding!  I think. 

As a temporary workaround, I suggest reading the list from the archive:

evdl.org/archive/

... And then replying by copying the subject into a fresh email message.

Alternatively, get an email account elsewhere to use for the list.  I'm 
using these folks for one of my backup accounts.

Signup isn't instantaneous. A volunteer looks over every request, presumably 
to exclude bots.  It took a couple of days for my request to be approved.

Actually, the J1722 protocols don't say anything about defeating 
vehicle motion. If such an inhibit feature is implemented, it's 
taking place in the vehicle's circuits sensing that the charging 
handle is inserted in the charge port. A simple mechanical or 
proximity switch is all that's needed, or monitoring for the J1722 
pilot signal, although this would be less fail-safe.


Liquid fuel pumps have breakaway sections in the hose. Crude, but 
effective, although this seldom prevents damage to the pump (and the 
vehicle) in the event of a driveaway while fueling.


Re; Grocery store rewards. I'd much rather have lower food prices 
than have a retailer encouraging fossil fuel use, or even driving in 
general. Besides, the fuel islands at the store are always too 
crowded with "rewards" seekers, and the approach and exit isles to 
the station are inconvenient. I'll pay a few pennies more and buy 
motor fuel in a more relaxed atmosphere.

[EVDL] How to include vehicle speed on Teslas cameras?

Hi,

 

After reading the recent Consumer Reports article on police revenue
gathering, needing a dash cam in your car to prove your speed in court, I
noticed my Tesla Y has *no* speed displayed like other dash cams do.  I've
had this happen previously in another EV, (accused of 77 when I was doing
55).  How do you add the speedometer into the video?  Is there an interior
camera pointing at the dash speed display to record?
