As a charging nut, I remind readers that high powered charging capable EVSE won't do much good if the EV is not designed to use it. Also see: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?macro=search_page=413529=charging+350kw=date More 350kW charging

The wording with the double negatives in the original email below was confusing. So just to be clear, if one generates say 10MWhrs per year of solar (typical 8 kW home system here in Maryland)... And use 10MWhars per year of electricity, then 100% of your energy is completely fossil fuel free.

I'm no fan of the utilities, but that's not a fair criticism. The change and uptake of the technology was unexpected and quick, and could not have been predicted when the infrastructure was built. Sent from my iPhone > On Jan 2, 2018, at 5:17 AM, Michael Ross via EV

Mark, The argument does not pass the smell test. To me, it sounds like "we have not had this problem before (outages) and thus it must be those new plasma TVs to blame." It is easy to find a blame instead of being accountable and confess that the investment in infrastructure has not kept pace

Dubious or not, our local infrastructure couldn't handle the change in technology coupled with numbers of units in each household. Try telling those who suffered frequent outages that they were imagining it. Sent from my iPhone > On Jan 2, 2018, at 5:09 PM, Steve Condie via EV

I think that you're misquoting the article. 70% is not from coal - it's from a mixture: "in 2015, 72 per cent of the electricity generated in Nova Scotia came from plants burning coal, pet coke, natural gas and oil." And the amount of renewables will go up to 40%, not 60%, and not until 2020.
