I have a Battronic Van which was originally purchased by Seattle City
Light to gain electric vehicle experience in the 1970's. Controller is a
Hartman series parallel contactor type. (I actually knew
Al Hartman back then). The van has an aluminum body and slide in battery
racks from both sides.
I have a deposit on a Ford Lightning pick up truck, but I expect unfair
pricing from Ford dealers. We drove a Mustang E last month. The MSRP is
about 43k but the dealer asking price was 77k for 34k dealer mark up. I
expect to see the same BS on the Lightning. George

Bob Rice would have coined a new word for Tesla, such as MESSLA or a
rearrangement of the letters to form the words "LAST-E" or E-STAL. Bob
was a visionary and a 100% EV enthusiast. I think he would have been
delighted.

The key word here is "availability", not MTBF, or reliability. The Tesla
battery can withstand many single point failures without affecting
performance or operation of the car, therefore the car
