Not so sure about this title. Qiantu might be the first Chinese car to be sold under its own name in the US, but it's not the first Chinese car here, not by a long shot. Volvo, Buick, and Cadillac have been selling Chinese- made ICEVs for a few years now. In fact, the Chinese automaker Geely bought Volvo in 2010. That was almost as much of a shock as GM buying Saab in 1989. Nor is it the first Chinese EV offered here. Zap imported the dodgy Xebra from 2006 to 2009. A few others, such as the Flybo, have wandered over in limited quantities; and some US operations, such as Weego, have converted Chinese gliders with at least partly US EV components. To be fair, though, the linked article doesn't seem to actually claim what its headline states. The title is "clickbait," I guess. It will be interesting to hear more about this venture. My first question will be about their integrity to provide warranty and post warranty support. Also, what kind of tracking devices will be cached throughout the cabin? But, I'm not skeptical...
