I am going to give the Costco 6v golf cart Batteries a try. I just hauled home 18 of them. (56 lbs, ea.) My previous battery set has the L-foot terminals, while the Costco batteries have the post, with 5/16 screw. My controller draws about 550 amps, max. (Usually, under one minute duration.)

I personally wouldn't trust the 5/16 bolts for anything more than what my tractor dishes out. (Maybe 200A briefly, flexy cables.) Even then I'm very careful not to over-torque the nuts and check them regularly. 550 amps and stiff 2/0 cable is a recipe for a melted post. L posts or automotive

Roger is that the post which stands up like an old automotive battery, or the one which extends about 1/8 inch with the machine screw centered in the top? with tall posts I personally like to use automotive battery connectors with the top screw tightened last to prevent the connector slipping up
