So, I finally got the 2nd Motor temp sensor installed and working. Now I see that something fishy is going on with my motor cooling. Setup: Dual Impulse 9" motors in series (electrically and mechanically) Blower into ductwork into intakes of both motors. Temp sensor on metal grating at other end of each motor. (So, some heat from conduction, probably most from exit air flow.)
Start trip. Both motors read 18 deg C. 10 miles of highway driving later. Motor A - 44 deg C, Motor B - 68 deg C. Come to a full stop at the Ferry, and sit for a few minutes with the blower still running. Motor A- temp rises to 60 (or so) deg C. Motor B - temp drops to 50 deg C or so. What the heck???? Note that the highway driving was at 60mph, 4th gear, 2500 RPM. Even weirder. Later in the trip, I tried using 3rd gear, so about 4500 RPM. Motor A - temp stayed about the same.
