The SAMUR-Civil Protection emergency service reported on Twitter the impact of the vehicle was so strong the woman suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. The team managed to revive her at the scene before rushing her to hospital, where she is being treated for a head and other injuries. The accident occurred in an area with no traffic lights or pedestrian crossings, Spanish media reported. The windscreen on what was reportedly a rental vehicle was completely shattered in the impact.
