[EVDL] VW conversion motor needed

I have a vintage Corbin VW adapter kit and the GE aircraft starter generator it used, thinking of converting a bug I have laying around, would like to use a more modern motor. I was wondering if anyone on the list had found a motor that is a good fit HP and voltage wise (120v or so) for a bug?

In my experience converting a VW or similar car, when using a AC motor, best advice is to keep the tranny and go clutch less using 3rd gear only. Shifting can still be accomplished as long as you don't hurry with the shift and the synchromesh is in good shape. Also, best to put the regeneration on
