Mike,
Brands like Toyota let you add a fob with a little chicken dance of door
slamming and pedal stomping, but Nissan always requires a computer to add a
key, unfortunately...

I don't have a Leaf, so this is a generic answer:

Buy one of the cheap fobs from ebay or amazon.

A locksmith will program it for about $25-$50.  He needs your car to do
so.

OR

Most cars let you program the new fob yourself if you have 2 original
fobs. The instructions of how to do this may be in your owners manual, a
shop manual, or a google search.

I see several cheap generic Nissan key fobs on Ebay, most in the $15-25 
range.  They claim to work for Leaves.  No idea whether that's so, but at 
that price it doesn't hurt much to take a chance.  Some are shipped from 
China, but others say they ship from US stock.

[EVDL] nissan leaf fob key

 Where can I order a nissan leaf 2012 fob so I can have a local person 
program it. $180 for plastic with chip  seems rediculous . I want to 
have a dubicute made. I'm not  going to the local  Stealer ship.
