[EVDL] CSIRO motor compromise.
The 98% efficient CSIRO solar vehicle motor is a bit expensive like 10k dollars. What is a good compromise today for a brush less motor that is affordable and powerful enough to allow a 500 to 1000 pound vehicle to keep up with traffic. I need to get under 100 wh per mile. My vehicle will be much more efficient than a motorcycle. Much depends on what you mean by keep up with traffic. If you want low energy consumption, an ebike, not a motorcycle, is the way to go. Even an indifferently optimized ebike can usually manage 20 Wh/mi. With some pedaling, you can often cut that in half. Of course, the traffic it can keep up with tends to be two-wheeled and pedal- fitted. PS - Addressing EVDL posts to ev-requ...@lists.evdl.org is kind of futile.
