NISSAN is set to unveil a new all-electric SUV car based on the new Leaf
2018 at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 this month.
Nissan is set to debut a new electric SUV based on the 2018 Nissan Leaf.
The car will make its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 on 27
October.
A new teaser trailer seems to confirm the new electric SUV and reveal its
silhouette.
The car’s outline is presented in a similar style to the one that Nissan
used to tease the Leaf 2018.
It features the classic blue LED light that is associated with
zero-emissions electric vehicle.
Details about the new crossover has been kept fiercely under wraps ahead of
the launch but Nissan has said the concept “embodies the future of Nissan
Intelligent Mobility.”
The car has sleek sloping roofline and sharp vertical front-end.
It should also feature new driving technologies, if the ‘autonomous drive
recommended’ label in the video is anything to go by.
Apparently the new SUV will go on sale in 2019 and will look to challenge
the VW ID Crozz and could also take on the Tesla Model Y when it debuts.
It could also feature some of the elements that were debuted on the Leaf
2018 including the e-Pedal and ProPilot tech.
We expect the car will feature the company’s iconic V-Motion grille and
potentially the same headlight signature debuted the Leaf.
There are no details on range but it can be assumed that it will be powered
by at least the same 40kW battery pack from the Leaf and potentially the
higher power 60kW variant which is expected to have over 200 miles of range.
