Re: [Evangelism] Plone Asia-Pacific group
Guys, great to hear what you are doing. I'd like to keep interest in WPD by posting more what is going on in various places, especially live streams that others can tap into. I encourage you to post info to Plone Planet, or at least to the mailing list I just set up for all WPD local organizers, so you can share tips, help each other out. If anyone else wants to be on that list, just go to http://groups.google.com/group/worldploneday. It's a restricted list. I'll be sending out a few emails to that list later today hopefully about promotion and such. These three ideas were proposed, discussed at that time and actually implemented in WPD Tokyo. Thanks Dylan. :) I may introduce this short story in the opening of the event. Another good news is that, recently, one guy is participating to Plone Seminar, a monthly community meeting actively. He came to the meeting with wearing Plone T-shirt which was given away by Tim when Tim has made a presentation in Tokyo. Tim, Remember? You made one more Plone freak in fact. Thanks. Thanks to Alex, Xavier, Dylan, Virginia and co (sorry if I missed you out) we've now got a home[1] on plone.org and a mailing list[2] for all you Plonistas in Asia-Pacific land. Following in the success of Plone ConoSur[3] we've created a focal point for those in the Asia-Pacific region to convene, share ideas, and hopefully create a regional hub to promote Plone in an area that really needs help. After all Europe and the Americas is going strong and it would be good to get some concentrated efforts in AP so that our clients (and potential ones) as well as new recruits can feel comfortable that Plone is a project that is well supported locally. So please join up to the mailing list, contribute some content to our plone.org page and lets grow Plone in AP! [Evangelism] WPD online promo update
A few updates, - worldploneday.org is live, points to http://plone.org/events/wpd - I created a dashboard to see all the wpd activity - http://www.pageflakes.com/ploniverse/25222553 - not much activity yet - I plan to submit something to slashdot.org and digg.com right after midnight on WPD (Esther Schindler's suggestion). We'll need people to vote it up. There are other things I hoped to do, but with some help. Here is my current todo list http://www.rememberthemilk.com/home/gerrykirk/5488416/. Can you help? Nate, did you contact Chris Brogan? Roberto or whoever has access to wpd page on plone.org, it would be nice to add more content there, like a link to the ustream and the dashboard. Can you collaborate quickly or give me access? Re: [Evangelism] Howto: video broadcasting of your World Plone Day event
What would be cool (in my opinion) is a separate broadcast page as part of the WPD section of plone.org, list the broadcast times, who is broadcasting and the topic(s). Takeshi, Erico or Nate, is that content you can put together? You can see that I've added the World Plone Day Tokyo as a partner show. This is the url of our channel (São Paulo Brazil): http://www.ustream.tv/mybroadcasts/info/sao-paulo-world-plone-day-2008 We will broadcast our event from 11:00 - 20:00 (GMT) uStream also has the possibility of inviting co-hosts, so we could have a master broadcast that is showing broadcasts of various cities around the world. These appear in smaller windows within the larger window. Great feature. Nate, are you planning to coordinate this? If you are hosting a WPD in your city, can you please sign up on uStream.tv (it's free) and make a show called Your City name - World Plone Day 2008 (for example, Boston - World Plone Day 2008). +1 (Done already) http://www.ustream.tv/mybroadcasts/info/sao-paulo-world-plone-day-2008 If you have a projector and large screen at your WPD location, you can broadcast video of World Plone Day taking place all around the world, and we can even talk to each other. I think this would be an amazing way to show the global reach of Plone and build a sense of community that spans across timezones, geographical and cultural boundaries. A common schedule (a google calendar?) would be a good way to coordinate this. regards, ea ___ Evangelism mailing list Evangelism@lists.plone.org http://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/evangelism -- blog: http://gerrykirk.net daily musings at http://twitter.com/gerrykirk ___ Evangelism mailing list Evangelism@lists.plone.org http://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/evangelism

I've started following a bunch of people who follow @plone, please help spread the word. I asked earlier, is there a contact list for all the people who are organizing events? Hi Roberto, I can help with this. I will: 1. write a blog post which will appear on Planet Plone outlining a list of ways people can help spread the word. 1. post to FB profile 2. post link on Twitter 3. write on blog 4. Delicious 5. etc 2. follow my own advice in 1) 3. I can post to Digg, have never posted to Slashdot Does Plone have a fan page in Facebook? I can't seem to figure out how to search for one. Nate, don't you have a list of media contacts? Does anyone have connections with prominent bloggers? Maybe we can try blogs like TechCrunch.
