Hi All,
I hardly think selling to the State Government of NSW and Federal Government
of Australia are corporate bums. Government in Australia are very
conservative and are accustomed to dealing with large software corporations.
So yes to compete and bring the benefits of open source to Government, Plone
will need become more corporate in its appeal. If this doesnt happen I fear
Plone will not survive.
Chris, you must be in a very good finanical position where you can choose
your clients and discount corporate bums.
Regards Virginia

I think the design kicks ass. And as an academic refuge from 23 years of
corporate IT, I'd add a) making a logo more corporate makes it
dissolve into the woodwork of generic logos, and b) anyone who would
judge a technology based on the corporate look of a logo has a big
FAIL written across their forehead and *should* get involved in
proprietary software so as not to drag Plone down.
A funny thing about marketing is, you need to be choosy about who you
bring to the table. If you bring a bunch of corporate bums to the Plone
table, then Plone becomes known as the software of corporate bums.

Hi WPD participants,
I think the logo concept is good but in my opinion needs a more
corporate
look. A lot of my business development efforts are targeted at
Government

to
proprietary software corporations.

Hi all,
Just further to my previous email re. the WPD Logo - attached is a
concept generated by a fellow pythonista, i.e. *not* a graphic
designer
that may help someone of you out there to create a WPD logo for the
event[1] :)
Please let me know if you can help us out at all.
Thanks again,
Tim
