Subject: Open Day call for participation

Hi all,

As the miniconf organisers for linux.conf.au 2007, I am very pleased to invite you to participate in our free Open Day for the public. This is the first time an event like this will be held at linux.conf.au and the idea is to show off the coolest technologies and demos to the public and give them a
chance to get excited about FOSS and also meet the people behind the
technology. We'll be having ~40 tables and spaces for demos and if any of you would like to participate please let me know. You would likely get a table or space (depending of what you have to demo) and we'd need you for the entire event (2pm - 8:30pm on the Thursday). There will be rolling 10 min talks, prizes, free food and more. The event is really aimed at high school and university students and we are also encouraging families, friends
and techies for whom lca is too hard core.

Check out the details at http://lca2007.linux.org.au/OpenDay where we have a few example demos on the website. Please get in contact with me directly if you'd be interested in participating with what you'd like to do, as I'm organising Open Day. Food will be provided for free, and we are not running a full schedule against it to also give conference goers a chance to play and check out cool stuff. We have already started receving registrations for
this event, and we hope to get about 300 general public attendees.

Cheers,
Pia
