[Evergreen-general] Re: Reporting on in-house use?

2026-01-08 Thread Tessa Johnson via Evergreen-general
Thanks Diane. I'm muddling my way through creating templates. Equinox support
is super helpful and would probably make me a template, but I'm trying to learn
how to do things on my own as well. 🙂

Tessa,

In theory, you could use In-House Use -> Item -> Combined Aged and Active
Circulations to get both statistics in a single report, but I imagine you'd
have to fiddle with nullability or run the risk of only seeing items with
in-house uses during your selected date range, regardless of overall
circulation. Are you comfortable with designing templates from scratch, or are
you looking for a template you can use?

Thank you,
- Diane

Thanks Kate! I was able to replicate your report. It provides totals for
in-house and circ usage by category, which is great, but not quite what I'm
looking for. I'm hoping to see it by individual item. For example, it would be
great to see
SAMPLEBOOK circed 113 times plus had 5 in-house uses. There are some items that
I think are getting more in-house use than circs, but when we run reports it
looks like they aren't getting any use at all. Magazines are a good example.

Thanks,
Tessa

These are the strings for our report that gives us that data output. I think
the "All circulation types" is key. And the circ type column outputs what type
of circ, including in-house.

I'm no reports expert, so I hope this helps.

I don't fully understand why those are seperate counts anyway, but when I'm
looking at weeding reports I'd like to know if the book was used, regardless of
if it was checked out or just used in the library. Is it possible to get both
numbers on the same report?

Thanks,
Tessa

Written correspondence to or from the Town of Hanover, its officials, and
employees regarding town business is a governmental document, and is generally
subject to public disclosure under NH RSA 91-A, the Right to Know Law. Though
there are certain limited exceptions, you should assume that written
correspondence is a public record, regardless of whether the correspondence is
to or from a “hanovernh.org<http://hanovernh.org>” ema
