Re: NYTimes.com: Biden Administration Clamps Down on China’s Access to Chip Technology

2022-10-13 Thread spudboy100 via Everything List
You know, I have never blamed the Ukraine invasion on Trump or Joey. The
Europeans, yeah, because they insisted on Russian gas. I do think that Putin
and friends say Biden as a pushover, whereas the other fellow could go nuts. I
believe the blame is entirely on the Russians. Because, those aren't Thai
troops in the Ukraine. Plus, Putin to land grab during Obama, so I am forced to
conclude there is a real dynamic here, that you ignore at national peril.
My point on Policy, not Personality, still holds. My own view and screw what I
think because I am but a serf, is I would have in 2012 gone for either Rubio as
prez in order to steel the Latino vote out from under you, and say, white-aryan
Romeny as a pampered, patrician, in any case. Romney is also a pushover.

In any case the eyes on the prize is what we spend on R&D and in what areas, if
you want a better world, because politics, a feature of democratic party
attorneys, seems like an ugly failure to me.

Of course I would not object! If I sincerely believe that the world will become
a better place if the government spends money on project X even if you consider
the fact that all projects have a cost then I would do everything within my
power (which isn't much) to make project X happen. But then why the hell do you
call such a benevolent thing a "bribe"? A bribe implies something that is
sinister, underhanded and shameful, this is none of those things, the world
would be a far worse place if such "bribes" did not occur. If you insist on
using that word then you're going to have to invent a new word for the old
meaning of the word "bribe" because the English language needs such a word if
it wishes to describe the world.

> So is this Trumpkin so awful now?

Yes. It would be an accurate use of the word bribe to say that Trump tried to
bribe President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by saying he would send Javelin anti-tank
missiles to Ukraine only if he harms his political opponent by publicly
announcing an investigation of Hunter Biden,  he need not actually conduct an
investigation, he just needs to PUBLICLY announce it. Trump was being sinister,
underhanded and shameful, certainly if Barack Obama had done something like
that you'd be foaming at the mouth with indignation, so the word "bribe" is
perfectly appropriate.

2022-10-12 Thread spudboy100 via Everything List
You may be correct, but so many the world over, leaders, seemed to be
comprehendible to BF Skinner, or  Pavlov.
Their publics are amendable too. I am quoting former Sec of State under Bush
41, James Baker the 3rd, Oil Exec and House of Ibn Saud pal, when he stated:
"Bribe the Bastards." Baker also once said, "Fuck the Jews," which is sometimes
understandable, but generally not during his reign in the State Department.
In other words, because somebody is a nasty piece of work, doesn't mean one
should fore-go a learning opportunity.
When I say bribe it need not be a Cash Payment JC. For me, and possibly
yourself, it could be a massive R&D project, to you yourself might
findirresistible?  Now, if I, a vile Trump voter came down on say,
perfecting cryonics to extend and secure a better quality of life for all.
would you object? To be more precise, I propose a 50 billion dollar baseline
funding over 6 years, uniting teams of biologists and chemists across the globe
to secure extended lifespans as well as better health.
I also propose boosts in the implementation of renewable energy and molten salt
reactors to power civilization forever. Again, the same financial model to
boost technological achievement in a short time. Throw billions in cash as well
as hired scientists and engineers to actuallyachieve he goal. Nothing
half-assed. Looking back, on the cryonics thing, I add 10 billion for
developing into an industry, Tissue engineering, to successfully grow and
install all organs, muscles, bones, nerves. Medical computing the same,
artifical limbs that function superbly.
So is my evil plan JC, capitalist or socialist? Who cares, the main thing is
that it succeeds, and yes,  for the rich, provides a Return On Investment of
Taxpayer Cash. Why should the taxpayer also receive a kickback?
So is this Trumpkin so awful now? Maybe yes. Yet, as Comrade Stalin wrote, "We
are fellow travelers comrades."
Stalin ain't my hero, but like I stated earlier one can even learn a thing or
two from the bastards of the world...if one is not too proud?

I rate Joey as far better, even though he accepted bribes from Xi, then then
Fink of Blackrock.
I oppose the Soros Family paying for the campaigns of soviet DA's in dem ruled

Allow me to illuminate this JC. A year

John, its this simply; both capitalists and non-capitalists do harm to the rest
of us. Yeah, I hate everybody. There's a lot to hate and a lot of power
distributed upwards to the "Ruling Class," who seem to rule rather poorly. This
low quality of rule is rather uninterrupted, thus, no chance for self
correction.
Many of the party members are these billionaire$. Under Chairman Xi, he has
punished the moderating influence of some billionaires who do not want the
gravy train ended via a war with the US. Xi sees a war as Chinese destiny for
global control and that the only way is to destroy the US. This is an act of
faith. Like Putin.
You could've said the same thing with Adolf, but some people you cannot deal
with. Many of the elite in the US will continue bad policies and you will
follow out of group loyalty. US billionaire loyal to a  Chinese dictator who
seeks American annihilation is probably a bad thing. But for some he finds The
Party, so we can't say no to Gates!!!

Spud, you claim to hate communism but apparently you've never heard the
saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend. If there's one Group that hates
communism even more than you do it's capitalists, haven't you noticed
they've been cracking down on their own billionaires, "re-educating" them
and putting them in prison at an exponential rate? And if Bill Gates is a
villain then I say three cheers for villainy because Bill Gates has saved
more lives than any living person, perhaps more than anybody in human
history.

You really need to get a new bullshit detector, your old one is clearly
defective; you think any sort of nonsense that some jackass types out on
the Internet needs to be taken seriously, provided of course it's
right-wing nonsense and not left-wing nonsense.

It's good thing, yes. But it is one good thing in a tidal wave of deliberate
loses with the CCP. They buy land in the US and set up spy centers, apparently
not interfered with.

It's something that seems to be that the CCP throws cash around worldwide and
even to Joe and family. The Academics take cash from the CCP in the form of
Confucius Institutes at Public Universities. The elites seem to view themselves
as insulated from any damage the CCP causes us. I don't see this faulty view
surviving any PLA attack on the US in the Pacific or, yes, even elsewhere.
From last year, even George S. opposed the Fink-Blackrock investment in CCP
ruled China
(stub).https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-07/george-soros-calls-blackrock-s-china-investment-tragic-mistake
My point is I could see Larry Fink and the other billionaires (Gates?) fleeing
to China, after a Chinese attack, to avoid the lynch mob.
These elites are so separated by daily experience from the commoners that we
can easily have a Titanic Event (whence it tried to sail over the iceberg)
because of this? They may have already planned for this eventuality, and how
would we even know?
Yes, Joey done good on the chips, but we are retrograde on so many other areas
of self imposed vulnerability, that it may not matter over the next year or
two?
Peace Out JC.

Biden Administration Clamps Down on China’s Access to Chip Technology

The White House issued sweeping restrictions on selling semiconductors and
chip-making equipment to China, an attempt to curb the country’s access to
critical technologies.
