This works fine for all gtk1 apps - except Evolution, which seems to
ignore it. I'd like to ask what I've missed here?

I've seen this as well; sometimes people mail to another list member and
cc:s the list, in which case it does not get caught by the filter.
That would not be such a bad idea; there's little point in componentize
stuff that's always used together, after all. I did get a little
intrigued with the idea of using the addressbook and the calendar
component in other apps, however. Maybe have those two as one component,
and the rest of Evolut
No need for a mail client; POP3 is so easy to use manually. Put it this
way: it's actually easier to read your mail using telnet to the POP3
server than it is to use the old 'mail' application.

I've been using Galeon 1.2 for a while now, and I find myself doing the

interested in the possibility of adding mous gesture navigation to
evolution, or am I just weird?

I just saw that Galeon 1.2.0 and mozilla 0.9.9 is up at red-carpet.
Great! - except that libnspr and libnss from Mozilla conflicts with the
version used for Evolution. So, question: can I reasonably safely force
the upgrade of those packages, or should I just wait until a new

I get this too from some senders. All of them seem to run Outlook
Express - but others with that mailer do not send this kind of
'encoding'. Does anyone know what setting to change in that mailer so I
can tell them?

In the rest of the world, the week starts on monday.
In any case, this can easily be set in the calendar preferences.

The same problem exists in Xterm, Gnome-Terminal, gvim and so on; it
might be a general configuration issue under linux, rather than an
Evolution-specific problem.

Finally out! The only thing I've found is that the splash screen is a
bit uninspired... Of course, since I restart Evolution every time I
reboot (i.e. once in a blue moon) or when installing a new version, this
is not much of a problem.

Mr. Jan Morén
You enable it in the control center, under the html thingy.
Unfortunately, you can only have one language active at a time, though
(making it fairly useless for me...)

Is there a reason why channels.xml does not list the ximian preview
channel for redhat 7.2 even though the channel is available on the ftp
site? Would there be a problem with adding it manually? I want my pretty
new control-center... Oh, and the setup-tools would be nifty too,

I run 02.08.57, and I do not get any hangs at startup, no crashes or
other problems with contacts after sending mail, and the hang-on-exit
thing that was present yesterday seems to have disappeared completely.
If this isn't 1.0 material, it certainly is _very_ close...

Whohoo! I can get my daily fix again!
BTW: when evolution reaches 1.0 or 1.1, snapshots will maybe not be done
anymore. Will you start on another piece of software we can watch grow
from ulcer-inducing to great?

I'm about to install redhat 7.2, and I'm wondering if anybody has been
able to install evolution (or, indeed Ximian Gnome) under the betas;
will the 7.1 RPM:s work if I remove the original Gnome rpm:s?
Barring that, what kind of time frame is there for a redhat 7.2 version?
I really don't want to
Since last week, only new versions of gal have been available in the

I can't seem to find info on what syncing behavior ("Synchronize",
"Merge" and so on) will do what I want. What I (and most people,
