Yes. The "system tray", correctly called the notification area in GNOME, is for notifications. Not for random applications that you decide should be put there and not the window list when you minimise them. If you want to dock arbitrary applications into the tray, use AllTray. http://alltray.sourceforge.net/ Ross -- Ross Burton mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.burtonini.com./ PGP Fingerprint: 1A21 F5B0 D8D0 CFE3 81D4 E25A 2D09 E447 D0B4 33DF signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part ___ Evolution-hackers mailing list Evolution-hackers@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-hackers
Re: [Evolution-hackers] Minimize to Systray
I've already tried that program, but I don't very much like it. Is there an intentional design reason why such a feature has not been implemented? I just spent a week covering for a friend at his job. He uses Outlook, and it minimizes to the system tray. I got notifications of new mail, and of appointments and tasks. I would really like it if Evolution was able to do this without sitting in the window list. Thank you all for your hard work on Evolution, it's a great program. It has some of the best mail filtering capabilities available. No. But you might look at a program called "Mail Notification". http://www.nongnu.org/mailnotify/ Matthew Barnes ___ Evolution-hackers mailing list Evolution-hackers@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-hackers
[Evolution-hackers] Minimize to Systray
Greetings, Is it possible to have Evolution minimize to the system tray so that it can continue to run and notify me of email, but not crowd my window list? Or am I missing something by not implementing the Evolution-data-server correctly?
