Hi,
you are right, neither the current stable 3.26 nor your ancient 3.18.5
support that, but the bug exists for it. The older one:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203251
is specific for LDAP, but I expect it to be fixed with a newer:

[Evolution-hackers] lookup S/Mime encryption certificates over LDAP

2018-02-12 Thread Horst Weber
When trying to lookup userCertificate attributes from a LDAP server,
Evolution still pops up an error message that the public keys could not
be found.

Checking the archives there have been several discussion on this topic,
but so far it seems that this bug has not been solved.

Is there a plan for fixing this issue?

  Thanks

Hi,
the monthly release is correct. I'm not aware of any nightly builds,
they are not done by the Evolution team for sure. I'm not sure whether
this will reach 3.12.x (stable), but it should reach the development
version (3.13.x) soon. If I'm not mistaken, then the merge is awaiting
for some fixes on the EWS side and then on a final review from dwmw2.

I guess Yumma or Dwmw are members of this list too, aren't they?

The should be, but just in case I added them to CC now.

 Whats the current status?
Would be happy to test this in my Employers secure mail
 environment...

Is there any eMail/Groupware client for Linux systems out there
   that
supports Exchange-EWS Connectivity and S/Mime incl. certificate
   (PublicKey) lookup from LDAP..?

When using EWS, evolution connects to the addressbook also with
  EWS,
not with LDAP, but as I said above, it doesn't matter much, because
Yumma's module searches in all [1] configured address books.

[1] I didn't touch the code myself, neither review it, but I guess
it's all configured books with enabled autocompletion or
  something
  like that.

I expect it that way... for my case its important to be able to get
certificates from an additional LDAP Adressbook (besides those coming
 from Exchange over EWS).

You might check whether evolution-data-server reads the certificate
from your LDAP server. I briefly looked into the code and it seems
like it should read the information from a userCertificate LDAP
attribute.

[Evolution-hackers] lookup S/Mime encryption certificates over LDAP?

2014-10-08 Thread RHE
Hi everyone

Is there a way to make Evolution lookup for Recipient S/Mime Encryption
Certificates (aka PublicKeys) from a LDAP addressbook when sending an
encrypted mail?
Or may be over an LDAP Keyserver which is technically the same (more
or less)...

If not, is there a Bug/FeatureRequest on this to follow the progress
and/or a planned release date?

context:
The procedure of fetching S/Mime certifcates (aka PublicKeys) for
recipients has become a kind of standard for many (enterprise/automated)
secure mail solutions to provide senders with valid PublicKeys on S/Mime
basis... so i guess this is feature that gets more and more requested in
future...

...which brings me to the question:
Is there any eMail/Groupware client for Linux systems out there that
supports Exchange-EWS Connectivity and S/Mime incl. certificate
(PublicKey) lookup from LDAP..?

thanks in advance for any information

Hi,
there is nothing at the moment, but...

...one of this year's GSoC projects involving evolution/evolution-data-

looked-up from configured address books. The code is currently under
review and either Yumma or Dwmw might be able to tell you more details
