Hi,
only IMAP provider, not IMAP+, supports it [1].

I don't know if this is already the case, but this seems like something
which should be done automatically if you set your GMail account up
 through GOA.

The Evolution GOA module is configuring account as IMAP+, but the main
problem would be to find which folder corresponds to GMail's Trash
folder, because the folder name is localized based on the user's locale
preferences on the GMail account (server side). Maybe they provide some
kind of annotation on folders, I do not know, I only think it's not
possible to find just by a folder name.
Bye,
Milan

Yep, find it!
However, when I press delete key, it's not just moving it to
[Gmail]/Trash. The mail will still be in [Gmail]/All Mail...

Hi,
hmm, there are some tweaks to do it right with Google's IMAP
implementation. It might be a bug, if it doesn't work for you.
As a starter, is your receiving URL's host part ending with
either gmail.com or googlemail.com? Feel free to file
a bug [1] for this issue, as it'll be easier to investigate there.
Bye,
Milan

You can change the ‘Special Folders’ preferences for the account in the
account settings dialogue, where you should be able to change the trash
folder to [Gmail]/Trash. That works for me.

Note that it does then break the behaviour where you can press ‘delete’
on a message in your inbox to archive it (rather than trash it).

So, hackers, why don't add a configuration entry about deleting
folder? Then the behavior of deleting is as good as thunderbird.
