The best help I can give you is to do what I did. I upgraded to 18.04 and
within three days returned to 17.10.
I read soemwhere that the best idea if you were short of time was to want
until the next version but one comes out before upgrading just to the next
version.

I am observing a strange issue for a couple of days now with Evolution
3.18.5.2.
When I move a certain mail (mail #1) from Inbox to a arbitrary custom
folder, another message (mail #2) from the Inbox display disappears as
well. It turns out that after deleting folders.db and restarting
