I forgot to include the following: One other very strange thing happens. I can send an email to myself. They show up on my ISPs web interface, But they do not get sent any further by my isp's mail server. The only way I can access them is through the web interface. ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
[Evolution] evolution fails to upload and download mail
I am running evolution 3.36-1. I've done some digging around and when starting evolution from a bash prompt I get the following error on startup: in bash: (evolution-alarm-notify:3796): GLib-GIO- WARNING **: 16:32:46.025: Your application did not unregister from D-Bus before destruction. Consider using g_application_run() In the gui when starting it fron there I get the folliowing error after the receiving two authentician request popup windows asking for my password: The reported error was “Failed to authenticate: IMAP server said BYE: Connection idle for too long”. I have used a packet sniffer to see if there is any communication between evolution and my isp's mail server. There is communication between the two, unfortunately it's a tls connection so I can't read exactly what is being communicated other than the url and the ports being used are correct. I am sending this using kmail so the problem is evolution. Something got corrupted somehow. The first usage of the packet sniffer showed a corrupted url. How that happened I don't know as I've had no computer crashes. Instead of the url mobile.charter.net evolution was sending mobile.charter.net...xxx.xxx. I don't remember the exact url it was being sent to but I know there for four extra 3 letter domains tacked onto the end of .net. Also, I reset all the ports, mail server domain name, and my account name in Preferences. That's after I realized the domain name evolution was sending was corrupted. I tried running CAMEL_DEBUG but I always get the error Command Not Found and have been unable to figure out what package includes the tool. Any help would be appreciated. ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

[Evolution] evolution fails to receive mail
I am using version 3.38.3-1. That is the version number in Devuan. I first noticed this problem a day or so ago. What happens when I open up evolution is it seems to hang and eventually the popup requesting showing I need to resend my login credentials with the password slot empty. I resend but the IMAP server never seems to receive the password. It just requests it over and over again until evolution reports that the IMAP server has severed the connection because it has been idle too long. I have used wireshark to look to see if there is network communication between my laptop and the server and there is communication both ways. This all started with some very odd behavior in the communication sent from evolution. Evolution was sending to a url that was corrupted and a corrupted username. Instead of sending to my isp's url mobile.charter.net it was sending to mobile.charter.net.mes.erf.wux.ddd . The last three subnets after .mes I cannot remember but I do remember the .mes came after the .net and four subnets after that. So I went in and redid all the entries in Preferences for my account including the server url, my user account name, ports, etc The corrupted url was now corrected and so was the corrupted user name. But the same pause in downloading mail was still happening. I rebooted my computer and afterwards evolution downloaded my mail one time and then went back to the same behavior. I can send mail. I emailed myself and using my browser to access the IMAP account I can see the email I sent myself. But, when I reopen evolution it thinks the email was not sent as it opens the compose page of the email that I just had sent. And I am sending this email using evolution. I need some help in figuring out what has happened. I think something has gotten corrupted but I've been all through the /home/username/.config/evolution files I can find and read but can't find anything relating to sending authentication to a server. ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
