Yeah that's it, thanks for explaining.  I have built Evolution without
that option, which is why I wasn't seeing it.

Hi,
you need to right-click above the message body. That feature requires
'highlight' binary to be installed. It's used for that re-formatting.
Maybe it is not installed on your system.

When you read a message as Plain Text, you can see the "Foramt as"

I don't have Format As... in my context menu for a given message, nor
in the Message menu in the menu bar.  Am I missing a plugin?  Did you

This feature sort of already exists - use an external editor that
recognizes and support Markdown (for example: GNOME Text Editor).

This would be a strange core feature for an e-mail client.  Message
text in Markdown isn't a standard.

What is the use case, and what is the actual underlying problem solved
by adding Markdown?
Which other email clients support rendering messages in Markdown?
